A Vision of Students Today

This video acknowledges the affects of new, and ever-changing technology and social media. Media is taking away from students' personal engagement in classes. The video also supports the idea of technoligy taking away from the "personal" level in the classroom by a girl stating, "18% of teachers know my name."
They also show how some students are getting distracted in class. A lot of students play on media networking sites, instead of focussing on class.

  1. Our generation has been tricked into thinking its mandatory to use all advances in technology. People are using the newest technology even if it’s far from ideal for the situation. Just because someone invents a new way of communicating doesn’t mean we have to use it. What ever happened to the saying “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it”. Is all this new technology improving the quality of education? I doubt it!

  2. Totally agree with Davids comment! The newer the technology, the more distracting it is. Having a phone that can do everything a laptop can do doesn't mean you should be doing all those things in class, while the Professor your paying is talking! To me that's actually time spent poorly...
