Doritos Commercial by Taylor Miller

In this commercial the man is bringing flowers to the woman, which shows that they are on a date or going on a date. It suggests that most black women are single parents, and that men are only interested in a woman's body because as soon as she had turned around he was looking at her butt. It does not help that the woman is dressed provocatively and is trying to get attention by the way she walks away. Which could make people assume that woman are easy. It shows a kid eating doritos and playing video games, which could suggests that kids these days are lazy? There is only African American people portrayed in this video. According to my beliefs (Jayden) the little boy is a child who has seen a lot of men walk through that door to pick up his mother. Which could explain why he had such an attitude and even anger when he slapped his moms date.
Overall this is one of my favorite commercials it uses humor and it makes me laugh everytime I watch it, and it may suggest or mean all these things that I have said, and it may not.

The oppositions that are present is young and old, child and adult. A seven year old boy is taking the role of a "father" figure. He witness' the older man checking out his mother and he then gets very protective. This is the stereotypical scenerio in an American ideological date. It also stereotypes the average African American woman to be a single parent and she is also dressed very provoctive. Also the African American man being "thug" and checking out the girl.

  2. The power realations are that the little kid is more powerfull than the adult, which isn't normal. The ad hopes the viewer will surrender to buying Doritos, and to your kid's demands. Only african americans are repersented in this commercial. They're encouraging other people to get their own doritos, so they don't have to share.
