Lia: Is Google making us stupid??

Nicholas Carr wrote an article called, "Is Google Making us Stupid?" He makes very valid points as to what we are using this ulitmate search engine for and that we are essentially letting it take over our own brains. It is enabling us to do work for ourselves, we no longer go to a library and read books to find information; we just go to a computer, go to google.com and then type in what we want to look up, and then BAM the information is right there and we don't have to take the time to actually do anything. But as we do this, we are then turning ourselves into these high speed search engines. Our brains and our lifestyles becoming much like that of an internet browser, we go from subject to subject without really consuming it. We are always looking for what is faster and better to get information so that we can move onto the next subject. Now, I am not saying that the internt is bad or that I completely agree with Carr. But, I am saying that we do need to step back and maybe take the blame off of the internet or the people that did infact create this wonderful tool, and maybe take in to account that maybe WE are the reason we are lacking the modivation department. Or the fact that we are too lazy to find things for ourselves that might actually take time...just a thought.
