As you can probably gather from the title, my name is Darci. I am attending Whatcom because I want to get a better job in the field I already work in, Early Childhood Education. Currently, I work at a child care center, in Bellingham, with children about to enter Kindergarden in the fall. After a day of that, I have the privledge of coming home and spending the evening with my two year old daughter, Riley. We read together often and spend a lot of time in the community doing things. I am a young mother, just hours away from turning 20. The most difficult part about it is that my friends act their age but I had to "grow up" a long time ago; however, the rewards are amazing. In my spare time I like to scrapbook. If you see me around you will notice I always carry a camera of some sort with me.
Sadly, one of the forms of writting I do most, aside from text messaging, are updates on my facebook account. Sometimes I share things I am proud of and want to tell everyone, like the time I realized Riley could read, or recognize, over 15 words! Other times, I am sharing feelings or thoughts about things that I may not otherwise share. These can be good feelings or bad ones. I try to keep a positive attitude about things and try to think of the events in my life as learning experiences. Everything happens for a reason. :)
