I'm Elizabeth Blake, I am the youngest child of a family of six children, and I feel that growing up in a large family has given me a different perspective on life than most of the people I know. Both of my parents are alcoholics, and because of this I moved out of my familys homes when I was thirteen. I was taken in by my best friend, Heather and her dad, Ed. They supported me without question until I was hospitalized when I was 14 after being struck by a moving vehicle after walking home from my summer job.
I spent three weeks in the hospital, and just as many months in recovery before I returned back to highschool. My highschool staff didn't make much of an effort to help me catch up on lost time and I ended up dropping out and getting my GED.
A few years and college courses later I was diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritis, and have spent the last three years of my life juggling work, medication regimines, college and mild depression.
Now that I have found medication that works, I am ready to face my life head on and improve my situation, no matter what it takes.
I am going to college to eventually be a medical researcher, so hopefully other people won't have to suffer through what I have gone through. Other than that, I like alternative rock, reading, video games, nerdy things, snowboarding and drawing.
I'm also not the easiest person to get to know... but I'm working on it!
